What to Do on Madeline

Madeline Island has something for everyone. Spend your morning on the beach with a book, your afternoon at a gallery and your evening with a history lecture or chamber concert. Or maybe you prefer to get out on the lake on a SUP and visit one the northwoods most iconic bars, Madeline’s got you covered!

Eat

Although our homes come fully equipped* with all of the necessary tools to cook fabulous meals, you might also want to check out the local restaurants. Farm to table cuisine, classic breakfasts, pizzas, subs, salads, amazing lake fish sandwiches and classic ‘sconi bar food - you will find something for everyone.

The Island Market and Lori’s Store stock your basic needs along with meats, some fresh vegetables, local fruits (don’t miss the in-season berries!) and baked goods along with beer, wine and liquor.

There is also a local farmers market on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings during the growing season.

*WI lodging laws state we are not allowed to leave any food (condiments, oils, etc) in the cottage for guests. Please provide your own food staples for cooking.

Play

Whether you love adventure or your sport is laying on the beach with a good book, Madeline will deliver!

There is access to beaches, amazing hiking trails and a state park with interpretive programs. There is a 18-hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed golf course, and outfitters to get you on the water, around the island on bikes or scooters and marathons for those more driven by competition!
